The Calming Effects Of The Thunder Dragon

Bhutan is known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon. I've always thought this is one of the most awesome names ever for a country. With a name like that, the bar is set pretty high for the trip. While I have such fond memories of my travels there, nothing compares with actually being there and being in the moment. Feeling the tranquility envelope you and flow through you.

There are so many symbols of peace everywhere you go. The prayer flag itself, is used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Stupas are meant to represent the Buddha, and are used as a place of mediation. The entire environment, right up to the clean air, has a calming and self-reflective nature. I can't wait to go back to the Himalayas to explore some more.
