The Polar Ride Through Greenland

There's not a whole lot to see in Kangerlussuaq given that at 500 people it's safe to call it an airport town. I guess the drunken helicopter pilot in the Secret Life of Walter Mitty wasn't too far off when he joked that there "are like 8 people in Greenland." Luckily it's not quite that extreme, but it is a relatively desolate place, which means, you gotta get out and about!

I didn't quite know what to expect scenery wise from Greenland. I've seen some beautiful photos of the scenery in summer when there is, well, some greenery. This is arctic winter though, when nature is a lot less forgiving. At first, you're in awe of the majestic snow and ice covered landscapes. Then, after a while, things can seem to all sort of blend together but eventually you snap back to being in awe of just how different and special the arctic is. I hope others will be able to appreciate it as well.
