Temple of the Nirvana Fish

What's in a name? Sometimes, you really get a lot of spirtual bang for your buck as in the case of this temple, Beomeosa (범어사).

The mountain where this temple was built is called Geumjeongsan (금정산), located in Busan, one of the busiest port cities in the world, and South Korea's 2nd largest city. According to legend, there is a huge boulder on top of the mountain where there is a golden well, or fountain, which never dries up and the color of its water is also gold. One day, a golden fish came from Nirvana (Buddhist heaven, if you will) on a 5-colored cloud to live in the well where it has remained ever since. The names of the mountain and the temple itself are rooted in this legend, and so, you get the Temple of the Nirvana Fish.
