The Ruins of Ta Prohm
One of the more famous temples in Cambodia, Ta Prohm is perhaps best known for making an appearance in the Angelina Jolie flick, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. I never felt compelled to see the movie, but after visiting Cambodia I felt like I should give it a chance. In my view, the 5.7 rating on IMDb is actually quite generous.
The temple is all very incredible. The massive trunks and roots of the trees have permeated throughout the ruins in an incredible fashion. You really get the sense that something quite mystical used to exist here, and it all feels like it's straight out of Indiana Jones. I half-kept expecting to find a little golden idol I would have to try to swipe with a bag of rocks and then escape through a corridor booby-trapped with darts.
