Lightening Strikes In Trinidad

While in Trinidad, I spent a couple nights at the Brisas Trinidad Del Mar. I actually didn't know what hotel I was staying at ahead of time, for if I had, I would have chosen a hotel situated in town rather than a beach resort. It all worked out in the end though.

Before I went to grab dinner at the hotel, as it was getting close to the end of sunset, I wanted to grab some shots from the highest point at the hotel. There's a sort of four story lookout tower which offers some nice views of the surrounding area. As it happened, there was a bit of an electrical storm going on in the distance, and there was lighting strikes like crazy.

Even though I didn't have any fancy gadget to optically trigger my camera based on lightening detection, the strikes were often enough that I figured just shooting rapid style a bit here and there would yield some results. Luck was on my side as I did manage to capture this strike.
