The Malian Village of Djenne Daka
I really enjoyed flying my drone throughout Mali. From eye-level, so much of the villages looked the same, but when you soar high above, the perspective shift is amazing. The village comes alive in a way you can't easily see otherwise. Instead of capturing a moment of a small part of village life, you now can capture a large part of the village at once.
For a fishermen's village, there are naturally a lot of pirogues (boats) seemingly surrounding the village. In reality, with the river levels being a bit high, the village has shrunk in size. You can see a mix of thatched roofs interspersed with the more traditional mud houses. Surprisingly, there are a number of homes with satellite dishes (and solar panels to power them)! I guess everyone loves TV.
