A Hearty Bowl of Cockroaches

A Hearty Bowl of Cockroaches

Who's hungry? Some cheap street side eats in Anlong Veng, Cambodia. Anlong Veng is located not too far away from the border with Thailand, and is also the final resting place of Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge revolutionary leader.

While entomophagy - the practice of eating insects -  probably seems strange or gross to those of us in the west, it's fairly normal in many other parts of the world. I know how a photo of bugs can make it seem like people are eating bugs because they're poor, but that's not always the case (although, sometimes it unfortunately is).
