Just Lingering Around
A classical Chinese garden isn't only about the beautiful zen landscaping, the buildings add an essential element and are generally the primary feature given the space they occupy. There are actually a large number of buildings inside the Lingering Garden comprising pavilions, halls and towers.
I didn't spend too much time walking through the buildings, but they do house two UNESCO World Heritage Arts - Pingtan and Guqin music. There were live performances of the music which really helped make the experience stand out. Like nearly everywhere you go in China, tourists are there in droves, which is why I usually stick to more remote places where I can feel, if even for just a moment, like I'm the only one there getting to enjoy a view. Still, the gardens are quite beautiful and worth trying to enjoy.
