Spirit Squadron

The level of effort and coordination that goes into the Arirang Mass Games is impressive. I always like to compare it to the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, except this performance happens numerous times over a two month period of time. Preparation and practice for the festival takes place throughout the year, and if you're selected to participate you will be participating for several years.

I saw Arirang back in 2009 and it was definitely a surreal experience. In 2014 and 2015, the performance was cancelled and it's not clear if it will ever be done again. If I have the chance to see it again, I would definitely try to see it, albeit not from a VIP box as the price of the ticket didn't provide that much value over the regular seating.

Coordination is key. Wouldn't want to be the one person totally out of step with everyone else here.
