Japanese Lantern
Walking through Takayama at the time, seemed nice and traditional. Looking back, I'm not sure how traditional it was compared to how traditional-for-tourists it is. Nevertheless, it was still enjoyable and not crazy packed as it's a bit off the normal tourist trap route.
It's mildly interesting to see how the design of lanterns varies as you travel throughout Asia. Perhaps its their commonality in modern day Buddhist temples and other festivals, but looking at lanterns does seem to be a bit relaxing.
