The Bell Tower
In the historic center of Trinidad is the Plaza Mayor. The buildings date back to the 17th and 18th century when the sugar trade brought great riches to the area. Looking out from the Palacio Brunet (Brunet Palace), reveals the bell tower of Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco (Church and Monastery of Saint Francis).
Taking a tour of the palace was largely pretty boring for me. I just don't enjoy looking at classical furniture and furnishings from 100-200 years ago. The one upside was the view from the balconies though. Seeing the bell tower rise up above the rest of the area, cutting through the sky was a small redemption of the time invested in the tour.
