Ready For Takeoff
While spending the two days crossing the Drake Passage enroute to Antarctica, there's not a whole lot to see and do. If you're lucky, and there's a decent possibility of this, you'll see some whales and you will definitely see some seabirds. I've never really been into birding, but I definitely spent some time on deck shooting photos of birds since, well, what else would I do?
The avian fun continued on the zodiac cruises as well. Naturally, thousands of penguins, but as far as birds of flight, there were plenty of those too. I have no idea what kind of bird this is - perhaps a petrel of some kind, but I could be way off.
Flap, flap, flap! Liftoff was achieved after the shutter.
