One of many Ethiopian pilgrims I encountered by the rock hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arriving for the Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas, she is joined by tens of thousands of other pilgrims. Dressed simply and not carrying many belongings, the pilgrims come from all over Ethiopia, walking up to hundreds of miles to make their pilgrimage.
