The Sadhus Of Nepal - Part 1

Throughout Nepal and India you can find Sadhus - a holy person - on their path towards moksha (liberation). During my weeklong visit to India, I don't recall coming across any Sadhus, although I wasn't really in the hot spots for Sadhu gatherings. I did however have a bit more luck in Nepal encountering a handful of them throughout Kathmandu Valley.

It's hard to say how...let's say, genuine, each of these Sadhus were. While Sadhus are definitely dependent on donations, taking a photo of the Sadhus in Nepal felt more transactional in nature. There was definitely an expectation that you would compensate them proportionate to whether you took a few photos or a lot of photos.
