Victoria Crowned Pigeon

If more pigeons looked like this one, I don't think people would refer to them as the rats of the sky. It's an absolutely beautiful bird, pigeon or not. The red iris keeps drawing my attention even though it has such an elaborate blue crest of feathers.

Birds are an incredible inspiration for the people of Papua New Guinea. For better or worse, throughout the country you see various tribes use feathers from what are without a doubt the most splendid on Earth.
