Arctic Brushstrokes In The Sky
Hotel Arctic is described as the world's most northerly 4-star hotel. It's perhaps more famous though for having five aluminum igloos that you can spend the night in. Slight caveat, the igloos are only available in summertime. Rather unfortunate as I would totally want to try staying in one had I not been visiting in winter. After all, if you're going to make the effort to go north of the Arctic Circle, might as well go full blast and go in winter, right? So sadly, I opted to stay elsewhere.
Even if you don't stay at the Hotel Arctic, it is home to some of the best food in Greenland, and for that, I made the trek on foot across Ilulissat to have a fine dinner. Before entering, I walked around a bit to capture the beautiful scenery. Icebergs drift in the distance as they try to escape the Ilulissat Icefjord.
