Humans Of Pyongyang
Numerous North Koreans came out to see the parade of military vehicles as they drove past. Having completed their parade through Kim Il-sung square to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Eternal President Kim Il-sung, they then went on a route as they exited Pyongyang so that more people could come out to see them.
Seeing the parade itself was truly one of my more memorable moments, but equally interesting is seeing the reactions of those around me. Not sure the few fellow tourists luckily enough to witness the parade, but the local people as well.
Children were dancing and singing in the streets with their parents or grandparents. Not sure why everyone here has a more stern look on their face. In general people seemed to be happy to come out and watch the parade on this holiday occasion.
