Happy Sudanese Man

After visiting the ruins of Musawwarat es-Sufra, a large temple complex some 180km northeast of Khartoum, I came across this gentleman. While there was a language barrier, this is where having a guide comes in handy. I don't remember if there was a reason he was particularly happy or not, but maybe he's just a happy guy.

After taking his photo, I saw my guide slip him some small tip. He then lit up, and started singing and dancing and ended up roping me into a bit of dancing as well. It's one of those random, spur-of-the-moment travel tales that would never happen in your home country. Chalk this up to 'When in Rome...'
