Someone in Somalia has a wicked sense of humor. This is basically an open landfill area in between the city of Mogadishu and Gezira beach a short drive outside of town. The irony is real.

The bit of haze is from any trash that might've been burning at the time. Sadly, sanitation in Africa is a moving target. While having a landfill at all is a big improvement over many other places, all too often disposing of trash either means throw it on the ground where you are, or burn it.
