The Road To Elephants
Setting out on a dirt road in search of desert adapted elephants from the lodge I was staying at in Damaraland. While the elephants do move around, the guides keep tabs on them, and told me it would be a good 45min-1hr drive to catch up to them. The road looked OK, but nonetheless we had a juggernaut of a game vehicle to drive in. Even though it was a a very slow drive, it was probably the bumpiest ride I've ever had. At least the scenery was endless beautiful.

It might be hard to tell from the photo, but those tires (or tyres, if you wish) are 41" in diameter. In other words, it's taller than if you stacked two average car tires on top of each other. That should help give you a bit of perspective as to the size of this beast.
After observing a few of the elephants, we took a short break for a drink which is when I snapped this photo with the Sony RX1R I had rented for the trip. Amazing compact full-frame camera, but not the best ergonomics.
