Out On A Desert Drive
The landscape of Damaraland is definitely quite spectacular as far as deserts go. It offers a different kind of scenery from the giant sand dunes of Sossuvlei, but with different wildlife and natural features. There are even desert-adapted elephants that live in this region.
This shot is from a safari to drive out and see the desert adapted elephants. The road was quite bumpy and it took a Juggernaut of a vehicle to traverse through the rough terrain. I know this portion doesn't look too bad, but it did get a bit worse for wear elsewhere, and you could definitely feel every little bump even moving at a slow pace. Eventually though, you might be so lucky as to see the elephants in person. Beautiful creatures.
